Share Warmth With a Child
Cornwall, Ontario - The Snowsuit Fund is kicking of its 2011 campaign with it’s annual Auction & “Just Desserts” Fundraiser Nov 4th at the Best Western Conference Centre. Giving children the right clothing to enjoy the winter makes a big difference in their lives. There may not be a drop of snow on the ground, but there’s no doubt that winter is on its way and the cold weather is here to stay.
“We want to make sure winter and snowsuits are top of mind,” says Alyssa Blais, Executive Director of the Agapè Centre. “Cornwall has a long and brutal winter, and being cold in the city is not a pleasant thing. I think it really resonates with people. The Snowsuit Fund is really grassroots and our donors are very generous.”
“A lot of people can’t afford snowsuits,” says a client at the Agapè Centre, whose daughter, received the first snowsuit of the season last week. “They’re pretty expensive and it’s very important that every child have a snowsuit.”
If you are able to donate, here’s how you can help:
1. Purchase a snowsuit and donate it to the Agapè Centre during regular business hours.
2. Make a cash donation to the Agapè Centre to purchase a snowsuit or snowsuits
