This Thanksgiving, Donate a Turkey to Help those in Need in Cornwall
Cornwall, Ontario - In honour of the upcoming Thanksgiving season, the Turkey Farmers of Canada, in collaboration with the Turkey Farmers of Ontario, are working with Food Banks Canada to share turkeys with local food banks. The Agapè Centre is receiving some funds to purchase turkeys to distribute to families in need and the Turkey Farmers of Canada is encouraging Cornwallites to get involved by matching their donation to the Agapè Centre.
Many families in Cornwall turn to the food bank each month. Families in need require all types of food products, especially proteins. Turkey is a high protein meat product and in high demand, especially during the holiday season. “We know that Thanksgiving is a time when families come together to celebrate, yet many families are struggling” says Alyssa Blais, Executive Director of the Agapè Centre. “We want to help them continue with their family traditions. We hope that this donation from Turkey Farmers of Canada will inspire others to donate to make an even bigger impact.”
The Agapè Centre will purchase over 100 turkeys with this donation. With the hope of purchasing another 100 with the aid of the community.
“Thanksgiving is a very busy time at the food bank and we truly appreciate the fund donation from Turkey Farmers of Canada to purchase turkeys”, says Alyssa. “Garnering turkey donations from the community would extend our ability to support families in need this holiday season.”

1. Purchase a turkey and donate it to the Agapè Centre during regular business hours.
2. Make a cash donation to the Agapè Centre to purchase a turkey or turkeys
